The Capezio 130th Anniversary and Capezio Awards, produced and directed by Ann Marie DeAngelo, was a spectacular celebration of all types of dance with Life Achievement Award going to Debbie Allen, presented by Savion Glover. The evening's host, Nigel Lythgoe, presented awards to Michelle Dorrance, David Parsons, Wendy Whelan and Mr. Wiggles. The show unfolds to discover how Capezio's history reflects the history of dance in America told through the perspective of dance shoes representing the different dance genres (and the romance between a Cobbler and the Ballerina for whom he makes pointe shoes).

The Cobbler Rap. Quite an ingenious idea that started with the Capezio 125th Anniversary show where the various shoes worn by dancers in different dance genres give Magic to how the evening unfolds. Led by Dax Valdes with Ephrat “Bounce” Asherie, and percussionist Marty Beller (who uses items from the Capezio factory that Cobblers make shoes with as drums).
